Cloudy to overcast skies and unstable conditions gradually clearing over Belize and the Northwest Caribbean.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:
Cloudy skies and a few showers will occur today and
tonight. Temperatures will warm up to about the low
80’s F at midday. Winds will be 5 to 15Kts from the east. The sea state will be light chop to choppy.
The outlook is for improving weather with cooler
temperatures on Thursday.

Heavy Rains Cause Floods in Belize
Heavy rains in Belize have led to floods and have disrupted traffic and led to most schools being shut down. A unseasonable tropical disturbance that formed in the Western Caribbean yesterday has now moved ashore over Belize, but is not a threat to become a tropical depression, according to the Belize Meteorological Service in its latest advisory at 2 pm local time. Heavy rains of 4-8 inches are have been experienced in most parts of Belize today in association with the intense thunderstorms of the disturbance. More

Prosser Defaults, RBTT Will Sell, Ashcroft Might Buy
He was already on life support and now Jeffrey Prosser is fading fast. 7NEWS has confirmed that today the Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (RBTT) confirmed to the Government of Belize that Prosser has defaulted on payments to service the US$25 million debt with RBTT. With that default, RBTT now takes over the security that Prosser had pledged to cover the debt. More
