![]() Shrimp
farms in Belize follow the late model of being located along the
seashore. The new technology in shrimp farm aquaculture, is that you
can locate them far inland; even in the Chiquibul, or on the VACA
Plateau. Far inland away from the salt water. While
shrimp are a salt water species, you can train them to acclimatize to
fresh water and this dynamic has changed the whole premise of shrimp
farm aquaculture. Shrimp are lucky to be in a market, in which the
demand is greater than the supply. You can sell all the quality shrimp
you can produce! More

CARICOM: Caribbean nations are finding strength in numbers The 13 operational countries of the
Caribbean Community and Common
Market, commonly called CARICOM, should agree to the completely free

Developed Countries (MDCs) on a non-reciprocal basis as the first step
to encouraging them into the Caribbean Single Market (CSM). The
Bahamas, Belize and Haiti are excluded from this proposition; the
Bahamas because it has indicated that it will not join the CSM, Belize
because it has not expressed concerns about the need for labor
migration, and Haiti because it is suspended from membership of
CARICOM. More
